Was anybody else disappointed with the new Harry Potter movie?? I guess it's not really "new" anymore being that it has been out for a while. I just went to see it with a friend and was totally bummed that NOTHING was like the book. It was so random I think that the director never read the book and just decided to make it one big, random kindof get the gist summary. I think if you hadn't read the book, you might be confused at what was actually going on. I was missing some many little things like why is Dumbledore so mad?? He is supposed to airy and matter of fact like. Where was his chintz chair that he's conjures up at the hearing? I like the old Dumbledore so much better. And where's Umbridge's bow that is supposed to perched upon her head?
I did enjoy some things in the movie. Like Bellatrix. She is exactly right for me. Luna is not right. Close though. Tonks? WRONG! And man! Have those crazy kids grown! They are looking old! I also liked how the death eaters and aurors fought. That was cool. I will watch it again when it comes out on DVD or at the dollar theater. I am hoping that because I had just freshly read book 5 that a little space from it will help.
How's this for great blog fodder? Anyway.....what's your opinion?? I am not sure my 2 faithful readers have seen the movie yet.

Your right - haven't been to see it yet. But I hope to go soon! Husband really liked it - although he has never read the book so he had nothing to compare it to.
It has been so long since I read the book that I liked the movie. Cho was right on for me. Tonks, NOT AT ALL!!! Dumbledore, mad, I didn't get that either. It was kind of random, but I actually really liked it.
Hey, I'm a faithful reader too!!!
I saw it and I generally liked the 5th movie. I agree that the old Dumbledore was much better. This Dumbledore was the same one in the 4th movie and he was angry in that movie too. Not my favorite character.
I think that Umbridge's character was right on, but her physique was not right. I pictured her more toad-like.
Tonks was weird, but the character is growing on me.
