Cards

I am so good at ignoring the yard sale piles that are taking over my house. I do other things like blogging, working and playing. Lalala...I can't hear you Mr. Garage Sale. Prepare? What's that? I like to fly by the seat of my pants.

Yesterday, I didn't even look at those piles. I completely ignored it and happily did other things like clean my bathroom and fold laundry! Don't I know how to play?? Then I went to work and was so lucky that Nicole graciously offered to watch my kiddos for me. (Thanks so much!! You really saved me! Sometimes it's just not in the cards to find an available sitter.) After a crazy night at work, I finished another set of cards for Nicole's card swap. They are finally on their way to Nicole's this morning. I know that I am the only one that she is waiting for.

The first set of cards I made was this cute pinwheel card. I was inspired by a card made by someone at my work. She made a large, brightly colored pinwheel that filled the whole card that was so fun! I took the idea and made mine a little smaller. I added an over-sized brad to the center so the pinwheel will spin. I sewed around the edges and then added a embroidered stick. I was going to add a sentiment but when there wasn't enough of rub-ons that I wanted, I nixed the idea and proudly declared it blank. Now it can be whatever kind of card you want! Inside, I added a sweet little ribbon and silver circle clip. They turned out great!

The second set was not as planned. I was inspired by this card (scroll down to the birthday boy money card) thanks to my friend Marylyn finding it for me. We didn't have all the cute Bo Bunny paper so Marylyn saved the day again by finding a cute gear paper that worked perfectly. The embellishment is not my favorite. I had to work with what I had. My circle punch was too small to do something darling like the sample card and I wasn't ambitious enough to make gears. Finally, I settled on a "Hi" stamp found in my stash of stamps. My end cards turned out cute enough and no two are a like. I can't wait to see Marylyn's. I am sure they will be amazing!

Alrighty then, I am ignoring the piles again and I am off to play with Jessica today! I am excited to see her Blurb book and play projects with her. Wahoo!

Your cards look great! I am not very good at cards.

I'm usually scared of dark colors too but we get so much light in the dining room that I knew it wouldn't be a problem. We actually don't even have an overhead light in our living room because it gets so much light. I like lamp light anyway. :)

Beleive me your cards we not the only ones I was waiting for. I was waiting for my own to get done, I barely finished the yesterday at like 5:00. I love how your cards turned out. I probobly kept too many of them for myself. I'm going to try really hard to haul my rear out of bed tomorrow for your yard sale.

It's good to see your blog.... are you wondering who I am? I talked to you at church a couple weeks ago and our daughters are going to be in the same Kindergarten class.

I am so excited to get the cards!!!

We are heading out of town this weekend - dang it!! Otherwise I'd be the first in line for the yard sale!!!

Adorable cards! Just when you think it is special to get a card in the mail, you get one that is handmade so sweetly. Now that is good mail!

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment!
