Lightsabers.

Meet the sonny, Jacob. 7 years old. You are constantly amazing me! You are so smart! You remember everything. You love school. You read like you have always read. You can spell just about anything that I throw at you. You like to play spelling games while driving in the car. I will think of a word that I will think will stump you and then you surprise me with the correct spelling. I make a big hoop-lah about it and you laugh your infectious giggle, flashing your dimples at me. Oh those dimples make me melt!

You are a lover of all things Star Wars. You are the biggest little Star Wars fan there is! You have loved it since you were only 3 years old! You are constantly making everyday, ordinary life into a Jedi life. Your kindergarten teacher, Miss Erika, thought it was hilarious that every piece of work that you did in class had some sort of battle scene drawn on it. At the end of the year, Miss Erika gave out awards and Jakes' was "Future Author and Biggest Star Wars Fan".
Here you are as Anakin from Halloween 2005. That is one of your favorite Jedi poses. I actually sewed this one. Pretty good considering that I really have no clue how to sew. Second picture is Jango Fett from Halloween 2006. You helped me design the outfit. It's a whole lot of duck tape, spray paint and thrift store finds. You are very creative. It's not so often that I find you dressed up anymore. I used to almost always find you dressed up as a Jedi or Jango Fett. I do miss this. My favorite was when you used to make your own paper Storm Trooper costumes. You would carefully color a mask that you would tape to your face along with pieces of paper to your clothes as the armor. I loved this! It's so you! Very colorful!

You love to play. Often, I find you getting Mia to play Star Wars with you. You have it down to an art always letting her choose between Princess Leah or Padme. Anything she wants as long as she will play with you. You love your friends. You love to be involved in any activity. You have never ending energy. From sunrise to sunset you talk non-stop! It's amazing that you can never run out of things to say! :)

We love you so much and are so happy that you are in our little family. Now, if we could just harness a little bit of your energy. :)
Love, Mom

Alrighty then......

Alrighty then......
For a while now, I have enjoyed reading several different blogs and admired the people for sharing a bit of themselves. I have toyed with the idea of starting my own blog but there are so many mental roadblocks along the way. I am just me. It's just my small little life. But the one day I read about publishing your blog into a book. That's it! I want that. My life might be small, but it's important to my kids. So here, I will write for my kids. A virtual journal of my thoughts and dreams for them, their lives, why they make me smile and my everyday life.
